Illinois Congressman Mark Kirk Says People 'Ready to Shoot' Over Tax Increases
Kirk’s response to Gov. Pat Quinn touches on national nervePost | 04/16/2009 1:55 pm Illinois Congressman Mark Kirk exploded onto the national stage today when the Chicago Tribune published an inflammatory remark about taxes: "I think the people of Illinois are ready to shoot anyone who is going to raise taxes by that degree." Went through two big ones in L.A. and never want to go through another. After the last big one in L.A., all the car alarms on my street started going off. It was 3:45 AM. It touches some deep place in your soul and you truly panic. It is profoundly disorienting and what you want is to be with people. Except the electricity is out so you can’t open your gate. After a few minutes, my brother arrives from his apartment. Then my oldest friend from high school. They climb over the gate. We make hot chocolate with my ...

Ann Coulter Rejected Sean Penn Movie Offer
Ann Coulter will not be appearing in a film about Valerie PlamePost | 04/16/2009 11:25 am Most women would leap at the opportunity to spend some time with Sean Penn, but not Ann Coulter. Naomi Watts will star as Plame, while Penn appears as her husband, Joe Wilson. According to the New York Post, Penn wanted Coulter to appear in a scene and shout "invectives" at him, but she declined because, in all likelihood, the movie would paint her as a raving right winger. Art imitating life or just a left-leaning film trying to ...
